Well, ok, it wasn't a full chaosgrinder {below level 6, i think}, but still.

A char of mine killed an advanced Rhek monc, because the fat bulley annoied him {yes, this char is CE and thinks of rheks even less than i myself do}. The session's end came before we left the scene of murder, so i desided to use the time untill the next session to ask this: What can i do with it?
Can the rhek's hide be used to prepare armor? Can the horn be made into some weapon, ritualistic tool, or other accessory {this char is a constant maker and user of Violated Horns, btw, so maybe anything of that sort?}? Can anyone think of any other waies to make the dead rhek usefull?
The 2e Monsterous Manual had an "ecology" section in the end of every entry, and there such questions were answered; unfortunately the 3e products, and BoED in particular don't have it...

Since Rheks are Monsterous Humanoids rather than Outsiders, I doubt that there would be much use for their body parts, though you could try selling the horn as an aphrodisiac to some gullible primers.:behold:

Frankly you can always find a use for something. I created my signature assassin's dagger out of a unicorn's horn (way before BoVD and Violated Horns, I just asked a mage to craft it into a magic weapon), a partymember made designer gloves out of dragonhide and planted a drider eye in his own socket after losing his own. Talk with you GM you always might find something interesting.

As for the Rhek (filthy bothersome ugly things they are, I love LN but I just can't stand Rheks) you can make hide armor, a scabbard, cloack or any other piece of cloading out of it's hide. The horn (as it's probably a rhino-ish horn) is very blunt so it might best be suited for a warhammer or large pick head.

oh, and you can make a nice umbrella stand out of it's leg :D

Do you think the hide-armor would provide greater protection than one of a more traditional source? The picture in the book shows a pretty sharp horn, but yeah, a pick is a greate idea indeed.

No, unless it specifically says so, hide armor is hide armor, whether the hide is from a cow or a Red Dragon. However, it would be very appropriate for an evil barbarian's Rhino Hide Armor once suitably enchanted.

Oh, this char isn't a barbarian. He's a CE rogue10/heretic3

The past tense of the verb to 'grind' is 'ground', not 'grinded'

[Edit: Watch the harsh language ]
