AoW help needed [Archive] - Wizards Community

So. The party is at Blackwall keep and has made peaceful contact with Hishka and killed Leutenant Kotabas and King Shukak. Fine ... except now I need a hook to get the party into the egg chamber. Without it, the party will just go back to the keep with Marzena without discovering the true horror.

Now, Hishka asked for some help with the infected lizardman, and the party have discovered and treated the slow worm. According to the module - Hishka now has suspicions about Illthane.

But what now? One idea would be to sweep the area with Detect Unmdead - discovering the other worms. But are the worms themselves undead? It would be good if they are ... but then what happens if the cleric turns them? I can't just hand the cleric an uber weapon against the kyuss worms.

So ... how to translate Hishka's concerns about Illthane into getting the party into the egg chamber? He/she is hardly going to go "thanks for killing the king, now have a look at the eggs".

11-12-07, 09:06 PM I'm not sure if you've done so already, but you might want to post this question on the Paizo.com boards. You're much more likely to get more and varied responses. The Paizo staff (who are responsible for all the Dungeon and Dragon issues that included the adventure paths) and their contributors watch those boards, and I think many of the people who actively run those adventures visit those boards as well.

I see very few discussions about Dungeon magazine adventure paths on these boards.

Since he has suspicions about Ilthane, wouldn't he want to inspect the eggs?

It may be a moment of "By Semuaya! The eggs!" and he runs off down stairs to check on them.

The PCs will most likely follow.

Hishka and the characters found the worms in the potions supplied but Illthane, so Hishka decided that the tribe needs to relocate. Unfortunately, the egg chamber guards are owned by Illthane, so Hishka asks the party for another favour.
