| Automagical09-03-04, 03:00 PM | Hi! I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this thread, but it seems that at the moment I'm unable to post in the DMG forum. Anyway... I DM for a party of five 4th-level characters. At the moment, they've just finished an adventure, and will be rewarded by a local lord. The man is resourceful, and can probably get his hands on a few of the things the characters might wish. But I play in a rather low-magic campaign. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions to alternative, non-magic rewards? |

| Automagical09-03-04, 03:43 PM | An arranged marriage Fantastic idea! It makes me laugh this moment to just imagine the look on one of the players face as they're offered an arranged marriage. These are the kind of fascinating ideas I'm looking for. If there are any more, I'd love to hear them! Thanks! |

A low-level title such as Squire or possibly even Knight-Bachelor would not be out of line. Landed knight is definitely too much at 4th. I'd probably go with high-grade equipment. Not just weapons either. Mounts, wagons, useful unusual things like telescopes or alchemical goods. And if weapons, not just masterworks, but make them ornate, with jeweled pommels and such. Gaudy even. Make the barbarian embarassed of his delicate gold-inlaid axe. :mymy: |
