Are there auctual rules for dueling? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-10-06, 01:33 AM Not that I am aware of by WotC, but there are numerous ones from other publishers, look particularily for swashbuckling type books. That said, why do you need extra rules? A duel is normally to the death, or to first blood. Both are pretty straight forward. Though, "to the blood" works a bit better using Vitality/Wound points variant, since otherwise it comes down to who wins initiative (but then, "quickest to the draw" is also a form of dueling).

08-10-06, 01:55 AM They got Mage Duels in Complete Arcane as well. I don't know if they're the same ones, though.
Complete Warrior also provides some rulings on competitions such as archery, jousting, and plain gladiator matches (with extra rules for audiences).
Oriental Adventures touches a bit on Iajutsu duels, focusing mostly on the skill of making the first strike.

Anything else is most likely going to be, as allenchan pointed out, simply a regular fight.
