There are tons of minis, but you have to buy them in box sets which makes it hard to find the one you need.

Of course, that also applies to Magic and everything else Wizards makes. Its sort of their M.O.

You should be able to find a figurine that looks like your character enough. If your lucky, your local gaming shop will have a bunch of figurines already out of box.

there are TONS of diff box sets. the one you have isn't the only one. in order to know what heros you have you may need to be more specific on what box you have so we can provide you with better info. :D

No, only this one:

Any attempts to use another mini as your hero will result in a Cease and Desist* order from the spooky wizard who lives by the coast (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/GiantITP/ootscript?SK=32), if you get my drift...

*A spoooooky Cease and Desist.

[can you] use a hero mini from the basic game kit for your custom character.
Sure, why not? What's stopping you?

Yeah.. you can use any mini that you want. It doesn't even have to be a D&D mini. I regularly use Foundry, Black Tree, Games Workshop, and other companies' miniatures at my gaming table.

As a matter of fact, my 'pet' character (the one I use often) is represented on my table by a customized Black Tree miniature (Historical Minis: Feudal: 2nd Crusade Knights with Swords I) with a Games Workshop Elf of Lorien head. Looks fantastic (I'm lucky that my fiance' is capable at all this stuff, since I am totally artistically inept).

Have fun.

not all mini's come in a boxed set......I have bought and still do but them individually.......some can be hard to find, but if your patient enough you can find the one you want in a single pack. also most shops, that deal with RPG's, could order just about anything you want. I've been playing for almost 18 years.
