| eventhorizon03-10-04, 02:38 PM | is Savage species and/or the arms and eqquipment guide 3.5 or 3.0??? |
| Wil_Hyral03-10-04, 02:47 PM | I think I heard that they made savage species "forward-compatible" with 3.5 but the 3.5 Monster manual gave much more gratuitous level adjustment assistance so I'm unable to tell you about which ways it would be forward compatible. And i could be wrong about it. Arms and Equipment was 3.0 I think but not too much should need changing (if anything.) |
| eventhorizon03-10-04, 02:57 PM | Thanks I wish they'd put a list on thw Website as to what is 3.5 and what is not, it doesn't say anything in the product descriptions. |
| Serena DarkMyst03-10-04, 03:25 PM | Well.......anything that came out after 3.5 is 3.5................so, by that rational....just check to see when it was released. |
| Angel_Azriel03-10-04, 04:08 PM | Normally, anything that is 3.5 compatible will say such. It will normally include a block of hard-to-miss text stating "Compatible with D&D Revised 3rd Edition," or something to that effect. |
| Seeker9503-10-04, 04:29 PM | No. They are not. And at the same time, everything 3.0 is 3.5 compatible. |
| Serena DarkMyst03-11-04, 01:24 AM | Actually...yes they are. Savage Species was the First 3.5 product...look at the damage reduction and altered face/reach stats. And Arms and Equipment guide was forward compatible...it stated such in a sidebar in the beginning of the book. |
| Seldarin03-11-04, 10:27 AM | Savage Species and A&E Guide are both written with the v3.0 rules. But are compatible in v3.5. Serena: Savage Species is not the first 3.5 book after the v3.5 core rulebooks: According what you said: Release date 3.5 core books: July 2003 Release date Savage Species: Februari 2003 so.... |
| Zherog03-11-04, 11:54 AM | Savage Species was written with the 3.5 rules in mind. There are a handful of things in the book that need to be tweaked, though. The general rule of thumb laid out by Serena is correct: Anything published after the 3.5 books came out uses version 3.5. |
| Serena DarkMyst03-12-04, 03:09 AM | Yes Seldarin...you are correct....it was a February release....my bad...but it was done with 3.5 in mind |
| eventhorizon03-13-04, 01:36 PM | yes I know that every thing post 3.5 will be 3.5. Its stuff from just before that I'm not sure about. BOVD came out before 3.5 but was wrote with 3.5 in mind. And I order online for lack of store near me that stocks D&D and the online product descriptions are sometimes lacking in detail. |
| Zherog03-13-04, 08:29 PM | Originally posted by eventhorizon Its stuff from just before that I'm not sure about. BOVD came out before 3.5 but is 3.5. To the best of my knowledge this is incorrect. BoVD is very much 3.0. The only books that were pre-3.5 that are mostly 3.5 compliant are Savage Species and one of the FR books (I'm drawing a blank on which one). I don't believe any of the others were written with 3.5 in mind at all. |
