| Gort3209-09-05, 12:13 PM | Nope - the penalty to reflex saves is reflected in the max dex bonus rating of armor. If the max dex bonus of your armor is less than your current dex bonus, your dex modifier will drop and consequently your reflex save with it. |
| Bud Green09-09-05, 01:00 PM | Not true. Max Dex Bonus only matters for figuring AC. You can have a Dex of 20 and get +5 to your reflex saves, even wearing full platemail, according to the PHB. Yeah, seems daft I know. |

Yeah, seems daft I know. Where does it say that? I always figured the Max Dex effected the Reflex Save as well... |

| Ranger REG09-10-05, 03:53 AM | Yeah, seems daft I know. Not to me. :smirk: |
| UZI09-10-05, 08:08 AM | The type of character that uses heavy armor is less likely to have a high dexterity anyway, as they tend to be melee fighters and dump stats into strength and constitution. Also, since fighters (but not barbarians) have poor reflex saves to begin with, capping whatever feeble dexterity they have would make them much more vulnerable to area effects. |
| Temrek09-10-05, 08:15 AM | And an armor is there to protect you. Granted it might not be the best protection against a fireball but against a collapsing roof? |
