| Kensan_Oni08-19-07, 10:29 PM | YOu know, they DMG covered a lot of ground on what kind of monsters you could find where... and you know, I've looked at every MM up to IV to find an aquatic monster that you can find in a cold enviroment... ... and I'm still looking. Did I miss something? Is there any aquatic monster you can find in the fridged northern or southern seas of any world? Shouldn't there be something? |

It may not be what you're looking for but I could see one building a lair in a iceberg and keeping it frozen in artic waters. You could also use carnivorous whales. Orcas hunt for various see life in the frozen waters at certain times of year. |

| TwiddleStootch08-20-07, 04:41 PM | The Monster Filter on the SRD brings up Sharks (Including Dire), Orca and Scrag Trolls. |
| tryco08-20-07, 05:05 PM | There are some monsters in Stormwrack: - Anguillian - scyllan both have Environment: Cold Aquatic i think all creatures with Any Aquatic would work too. |
| Kensan_Oni08-20-07, 05:08 PM | Thanks for the help, gamers. It's just annoying to have the Ebberon Pirate area of the world being in Sub-Artic waters with no baseline DMG info on what kind of things you can find there. I'll sneak in some stuff for my next game. |
| Raptorial08-20-07, 06:06 PM | Frostburn has some see beasts from the cold, like the walrus and "zeuglodon" (actually a dire whale, like all the other so-called "prehistoric creatures" they have in there). |
| B4_life08-20-07, 07:51 PM | If your PCs are not too far down, you could always use polar bears, dire or not. |
