09-20-04, 10:33 PM The artwork of the latest WotC manuals is just not up to par.:rant: The D&D and Eberron images are akin to comic book artwork and the D20 Modern artists are in a contest to see who can show more skin and blood. If we wanted comic book art we would go buy comic books.:whatsthis: If we wanted half naked people running around we would go to a fashion show or a porn site :eek: . If we wanted blood we would search the internet and find hundreds of thousands of sites that would accommodate us.:OMG! We want none of these :mad: . We want good artists doing a good job in our manuals :D . The artwork helps create a common ground for the players' imaginations, a way for the DM to describe things, and helps clarify what the writers are trying to portray. :cool:

09-21-04, 12:33 PM I have to disagree with you there Kalriem. I love the artwork that has been produced lately. The comic book style of the Eberron book is what the setting is all about. This different style of art might not be to your liking, but I think it suits it brilliantly.
I can't comment on the d20 modern books though, never bought one.

09-30-04, 05:50 PM Nothing against comic books and stuff like that, but personaly I like artwork that looks like it could jump off the page and bite me! Or a good painting of something that the artist almost got bitten by. :D That could just be me though...

09-30-04, 06:01 PM Maybe it is not the artwork that I don't like, but the inconcistancy in the work of artists' artwork, and the sheer number of artist that they have. It would certainly help if they had less artists.
