We Goths do not sit about wearing black, crying about our "meaningless and pathetic lives", and contemplating suicide. Nay, we dress in our finest deerskins, eat venison and whatever we can steal from the Romans, drink till we can't stand straight, and most of all we kill Roman solders. We strike terror into the hearts of Senate and even the Emperor. So when you think of the Goths, think not of those little freaks who like to dress in black and paint their faces paper white, think of among the greatest warriors to ever challenge Rome. P.S. I am not really one of the ancient Goths; just someone who believes that they have been much maligned in today's culture by those who do not know what it means to be a true Goth.

Quaker404 04-23-06, 04:10 AM	While I have yet to play an actualt D&D game (Signed up for MTG and must admit I'm getting interested in D&D. Planing to get that basic game soon.) I do have problems with people like Jack Chick to name one attacking it. It's only a harmless piece of entertainment like any other good game. I bet they only attack it because they suck at it.

It is carefully considered, well researched, presented at length on a number of websites. It is also, as far as I can tell, utterly insane, but that's a judgement you can make for yourself...
Azezel 04-23-06, 10:01 AM	I'm pretty sure that mentioning, erm, that cartoonist genlteman is against the CoC. For my part, I find it difficult to be either insulted by, or angry at cartoonists or phsychologists who fell the need to have a crack at my hobby.

It was just full of sissy boys who felt they where to good to join the legions anyway. I know when they pulled us auxiliary cav units from britain, we sure sent you packing back to the north again. We would have wiped you clear out if that chowderrhead emporer had not poisoned the general. Guess he thought we might want a real man on the throne and realized that the other sissyboys would no protect him.

My guess is that those Romans you refer to had a different view of the Goths. That's largely where the negative image of Goths comes from, not just from "today's" culture. Kinda like how the word "vandal" has come to mean something bad. Speaking of Goths these days, however, do the ones on the west coast call themselves Visigoths, and do the ones on the east coast call themselves Ostrogoths? :D
