Telperion 08-24-04, 02:18 AM	A member of this messagingboard using the handle lunanoko asked for my help earlier this month. He/she then sent me a group of files that were all infected by a virus (I use Yahoo-mail, which checks every download I make for viruses).
SnowbearK 08-24-04, 02:50 AM	Of course, the polite thing to do would have been to reply back with the same message (you have a virus), private message lunanoko, and, failing all of that, notify a WizO out of courtesy that a user may potentially be using the service as a means of distributing viral infections, THEN post about it in the correct place. Btw, this also belongs on the metaboard.
Telperion 08-24-04, 04:43 AM	Okay, I'll try to remember all that the next I'm thrown a bunch of mails with viruses in them, which doesn't really happen all that often. My apologies, but I got annoyed / suprised, and reacted a bit too hastily.
Edymnion 08-30-04, 10:41 PM	Well, while the idea is commendable, you did go about it in the wrong way. The above advice is good. Remember, the guy could have been infected and not known it. But, as always, you should never accept emails that contain unrequested files, they're almost always virus bait.
