Baccae Baccae Baccae.

They're drunk and crazy. They wake up with a hangover evey morning. Their legal drinking age is 16. Seconds. They toast toasting. They're always chaotic neutral. They handle their alcohol better than a dwarf drunken master with epic constitution. They... you get the point. They're unsuitable as player characters in most campaigns.

MOST campaigns.

Hypothetically, if I wanted to make Baccae a playable race, What would their favoured class be? The correct answer is not Drunken Master, as that is a prestige class.

It's rogue, isn't it?Nah, Fiend Folio specifically says that bacchae do not pursue classes, because any class at all requires some form of commitment. And bacchae would much rather not commit to anything except drunken partying.

Regardless, I'd pick either bard or barbarian for these festive fellows. More likely bard.
Mind you, bacchae would have a pretty steep LA for their HD, because of all of their abilities and protection.

(No, really! In Euripides' play THE BACCHAE, the character Pentheus is litteraly torn to pieces by a group of raging Bacchae--one of whom was his own mother. Euripides had a distinctly dark view of the gods...)
