Hello all,

I heard from a more experienced player that there was some "guilde lines" on how to build a backgound, some questions for you to answer in youre background in order to make it "complete".

what i would like to know is if some1 can linke them to me or let me know of a book that haves them.

sorry for the newbie question.

Ask your DM what they want included

I ask my Players
Parents - Dead or Alive, Proffessions
Siblings - Dead or Alive, Proffessions
Relatives - Dead or Alive, Professions
Birthday
Birth Place - Did they grow Up there, local History, Size, Merchants, Authorities, A Map of It.
Why they Chose Class, feats, skills, lanquages

I let my players write as much or as little as they want, in whatever format they want. I request certain details, but they aren't required. My players are aware, though, that if they don't provide me a background - especially with the details I ask for - it's possible, and even likely, that adventures won't focus on them.

Questions to answer in your background:

information about your family - alive or dead, professions, etc
name at least one friend, ally, or mentor
name at least one rival or enemy
provide one hobby (gambling, gem collecting, reading, etc)
provide career goals (best thief in the city, become an arch mage, serve my deity, etc)

On a fairly regular basis - every six months or so - I ask my players if their goals have changed or expanded based on in-game events.

There is a section in the PHB on that (pg 110)
I like having a qwerk like afraid of fire or undead it improves the gameing experience.
