| Tomovasky10-17-06, 12:46 PM | Hey guys just wondering if there was any dice that you have banned from your table. My first set I banned are those really small dice that are always getting lost and one can not see from anywhere at the table. Then I band this cinder dice that my friend had that was had one high number and one lower number and it was imposable to tell which one it landed on and which one it next two… last week a player brought this Crystal pink dice with no carved numbers in them, no black or white lines… So I told him that he have to use one of his other set for they were not going to work. I mean player’s right next to him could not see the number. Also all the listed sets were “luck” sets and they rolled nothing but 18-20’s. So do you guys ever say no to dice, or do not think the DM should control the player dice? |
| PolasKasDorion10-17-06, 12:49 PM | I bought one of my players a new set once since he was using the tiny dice. Every time he rolled a D20 he had to *immediately* pick it up to see what it said. For some reasons he rolled a lot of high numbers. :uh-huh: |
| freedeath10-17-06, 02:01 PM | Cannot... resist.... urge.... to.... correct.... spelling...... It's banned, not band; unless your dice play musical instruments......:) |
| CharlieRock10-17-06, 02:08 PM | Oh, I thought this was the section about a Bard's die set ;) |
| Azezel10-17-06, 02:34 PM | I would have said something if you had not, Freedeath. For my part - if someone was consistantly cheating at my table, then I'd get rid of the person, not his dice. |
| Articman10-17-06, 02:59 PM | Yes I would have to say those ruff cut dice that are not colored in. Especialy if someone has to pick it up to read it. There is no reason for them. |
| CharlieRock10-17-06, 03:31 PM | *looks over his shoulder conspirationaly* psst, Charlie used to file off that corner of his d6s ;) you know, the one where the 1,2,&3 intersected. made the 4s,5s,&6s come up more often  |
| CryoSilver10-17-06, 03:35 PM | No metal dice on the glass coffee table. |
| justdmjeff10-17-06, 03:51 PM | yes My dice are like Veggie-Tales. They don't have any arms or hands, yet they play music wonderfully. My d20 alone has 10 ranks in perform (drums). And my d12 plays the best air guitar. I get weepy just thinking about it. |
| _plucky10-17-06, 04:02 PM | My first thought was "Dice with Band Pics on them." Maybe the OP has a new marketing idea we haven't thought of before! Who wouldn't buy a d20 with their favorite band logo as the 20? Or a band pic. that is wrapped all the way around the d6? As for banned dice, we don't have any, but that's because nobody has brought a pair of 1' fuzzy dice to the game yet... -plucky |

| Einvaldurinn_mikli10-17-06, 04:50 PM | My friend has a set of red dice that consistently roll higher then average, way higher then average. The set has been banned and is now used exclusively by the BBEG. |
| DarkNick10-17-06, 06:16 PM | As for banned dice, we don't have any, but that's because nobody has brought a pair of 1' fuzzy dice to the game yet... -plucky Do you only play with women plucky? Rolling your fuzzy dice, while it can give you early warning of testicular cancer, is definitly something I don't want happening at my table :gah: |
| _plucky10-17-06, 06:59 PM | Do you only play with women plucky? I don't want to know who you're playing with that has a pair of foot long fuzzies  -plucky |
| DarkNick10-17-06, 09:17 PM | I don't want to know who you're playing with that has a pair of foot long fuzzies  -plucky My bad, thought you were talking about the 1 inch fuzzies :D |
| Silverthumb12810-17-06, 10:44 PM | I want a Led Zeppelin d12. :D |
| stargate52510-17-06, 10:48 PM | A single d20 which rolled five 20s in a row. it now sits in a display case which adorns the center of our gaming table always. |
| Jo_Pistachio10-17-06, 10:54 PM | I banned my DM from using my dice, ever since we got TPKed twice while he was using them. He got 6 crits in about 4 rounds of combat. When I used it, I rolled about 4 crit failures, including initiative. Not a good thing in hackmaster when I also fail my spots and listens. Doubly not good when both are occuring at the same time. :( |
| Giant Turtle10-18-06, 12:13 AM | I don't ban dice from my games, its the player thats the problem if theres cheating. We used to game with a guy that would roll his dice, and then either pick it up immediatly or, if it were a bunch of dice, like for fireballs or in White Wolf, then he would run his hands across them slowly, while wiggling his fingers. This is how he "Counted" the dice. We called his bluff a few times, once when he all saw him roll a 17 in GURPS (Which was a Botch for him) and said he rolled a 3 (A critical success), another time in Vampire when he said he got 18 successes on 15 dice, and the dice didn't explode. Now days, someone sits right next to him and everyone watches him roll. |
