Bard Novels? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-29-07, 11:10 PM Are there any Forgotten Realms novels that center around a bard, or at least a group that has a bard in it?

12-29-07, 11:25 PM In the Forgotten Realms 6 book series "War of the Spider Queen" There is a female drow who was taught a secret way to sing and make music to create magical effects and healing. It was called "Bel-Quasha" or something like that. But it basically meant she had levels in bard. Evil bard I too?! That is the only novel or storyline that has any characters with stand out "bard" abilities. Probably not what you where looking for, but it was the only one i can think of out of all of the books I have read. That includes Dragon lance, Dark-Sun, Ebberron, and you understand...........The War of the Spider Queen is a great story, you should look into it anyway. Even if you are not a big Drow fan, the books follow a somewhat different group of characters. And it does give good insight on what a character with levels of Bard do while doing bard-like stuff.

12-29-07, 11:30 PM So far I've found one more, Its a Forgotten Realms book called Elfsong and it follows two characters from what I understand, and one of them is an elf bard. Its part of a 5 book series called Songs & Swords.

12-30-07, 06:48 AM Not seen any Wizards ones, but if you can still find these in print, check out the Bard series by Keith Taylor, which features the adventures of a swashbuckling Irish Bard, with many interesting monsters, spells and gods. Another is an old series by Michael Scott Rohan (Under Michael Scott). Which has been reissued since White Wolf got the rights, called Magicians Law, Demons Law and Deaths Law. The Bard in this series is again steeped in Irish based mythology that has many ideas that could be used in any campaign.
