OK, this might sound petty, but...

I bought BoFK, only to find upon breaking the cellophane that the interior is a loose booklet (not bound to the cover) that is printed in very dark greyscale. To the point where the "Dungeons&Dragons" logo is barely readable due to how dark it is printed. The text of booklet is still readable, although the pictures are very dark.

Was there a bad print run of these? Or is this just the way things are done with WotC adventures nowadays?

Was the choice to not bind the booklet to the cover intentional? Like because I would want to spread out the inside of the cover for map use independently of the booklet (which makes sense, I suppose, but is a divergence from previous WotC adventures I own)?

I guess I expected more attention to detail for my 20gp... :-)

Yeah, I was underwhelmed with the quality of this title as well. The adventure concept is sound (if linear), but the gray scale and horrific editing makes it a tough read. The errata is floating around, though I forget where I found it. The detatched cover I can deal with (all mods used to be that way) and makes it easier to utilize the maps during gameplay. I really don't like having to flip back and forth for the separate entries for area descriptions and combat, I hope that changes for the sequels, though I don't expect that to be the case.
