By now we have all played it. It's just a shame it plays out exactly the same way each time. It would be better if there was an advanced mode which you could select the second time you played in which the program actually generated RANDOM numbers! This way, newcomers would be able to play several times without getting bored, and more new players would probably end up buying the new Basic Game.

(Finally, I have changed my alias on these forums!)

We have? I didn't even know there is a basic D&D demo.

The demo is at: http://www.wizards.com/playdnd/playdnd.asp

The purpose of the demo is to introduce new players to the game and get them interested enough to go and buy the new Basic Game that comes out in September. The Basic Demo is fun the first time you play it, but the problem is that new players wanting to learn more are likely to try and play it several times. Because the Basic Game does not use random dice roles (it roles the same numbers every time you play) new players will become bored the second time they play the demo, they'll lose interest in the game and won't go out and buy it.

Try to go and play the demo, twice. And see what you think?
