You might try just general bookstores. I know that two of the bookstores around here (including a small one in the mall here) carry both regular D&D books, as well as the basic game.

You could also try Paizo. They sell a lot of things online.

Barnes and Nobles and Borders Books both carry it around here, I imagine their stock would be similiar in your area. If they dont have it in, I know that Barnes and Nobles at least will order it for you at no additional charge.

Don't get the box marked 'Basic Game', however. It's not much of an introduction to the game, and only really worth it for miniture's value. Pick up the 'Player's Hand Book' instead. There's also a book called D&D for Dummies which is apparently worthwhile.

dont buy it i am also new and i bought it, the game is very limited its just a money trap my advice is to start from scratch like i had to do. heres a shopping list

1.A set of dice
2.The latest edition of the core books (at leased get the DM guide And The PHB)
3.a chessex battlematt
4.a box of minis(its good to have some figures to start with)

for adventures you can get adventure books or get them of of the D&D website (updated monthly). Charecter sheets are also availble On The D&d home page

**Sorry for my bad spelling)
