Ultimecio 09-26-07, 08:21 PM	Does anyone know where I can buy high quality playing grids. I play the normal game and dont have any decent grid paper. ( I use plain pencil geometry grid paper) and I want to find a laminated Dry Erase on that i can use markers on and erase it when ever i need to If possible....this would be the absolute perfect grid I want....can anyone tell me where to get one exactly like this or similar to this please? here is the link to the pic - http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/images/uc_map.jpg

You mentioned dry erase but if you can deal with wet erase then you might check out Chessex. I use one of their mats and it works quite well. Staedler wet erase pens are great with it. I just use a spray bottle and paper towels to clean it during play. There are some companies with dry erase products - Steel Squire for one. M
Azzoun 09-26-07, 08:46 PM	Not sure where you are at, or what you have around for hobby stores, but you should see if they have game mats, (sorry don't know the exact name off the top of my head). There are a couple of stores around me that sell them. They are like, 3x3 or 4x4 pre-gridded tan and light brown mats. They have a paleather type of top so you can use wet erase markers on them. They can be rolled up also so they don't take a bunch of space. I have a 4x4big dry erase board I use with various colored dry erase markers on. But the mats are pretty cool looking and come in 1x1 square or 1' hex depending on what you want. Hope this helps some.

rambaldi 09-27-07, 01:59 AM	What i use isnt quite like that, although if you have the time you certainly could make it.. Didnt have anywhere near me that sold matts so i made mine myself, got a big piece of paper (went for A2, not sure what that is in the US system) drew a 1 inch grid on it then got it laminated. All up it cost me $10 NZ so it would probably be very cheap. it does have the draw back that it isnt very flexible
mearrin69 09-27-07, 02:05 AM	Ah. The new pic does work but it's quite small. From what I can tell, though, it's about the same as using the Chessex-style mats. Mine is as Azzoun described - sort of parchment looking vinyl with 1" hexes on one side and 1" squares on the other. It is not dry-erase-friendly though so, if that's a requirement, then you might want to check out an option like the one suggested by rambaldi. M

Ynnoj 09-27-07, 11:26 AM	My gaming group has used Tact-Tiles made by the BC-Products group. http://bc-products.net/ They are 10x10 1/inch square grids that interlock. They are dry erase and work wonderfully. They are on the pricey side but I use them every week.

I took an old blank map grid from a Harbinger DDM set, stuck it down to a piece of foamcore and them used peel-and-stick sheet laminate (available from any office supply shop) over top.
