Welcome to the posting game, "Show me the XXXXX!" It's very simple. You post a request for a spell, feat, or small magic item, and somebody fufills that request out of their kindness of their hearts. Then they post a request as well.

(Yes, posting games can go pretty much anywhere if they're more or less on topic. Hopefully this one can be a bit productive.) Read the introductions for where this comes from. For any of you who frequent the Magic the Gathering boards, there's a forum called YMtC, or You Make the Card! Essentially, all you do here is make cards that will never see the light of print or be viewed by more than, say, a hundred people who look through it and will likely forget. Anyway, on it, they have a collection of posting games, with certain rules, where anyone can post a card of their own devices. For example, the "You Make the Alphabetical Card" game, you make a card with a name that comes after the next in the alphabet and is the same color. Anyway, there's a game called "Show me the XXXXX" or summat. Essentially, what it is, is where after posting the card that fufills the above request, they post of a request of their own. For example:

"A White Soldier":
------------------------------------
Eager Cadet - W
Creature - Soldier
1/1
Show me a card that allows you to set things on fire.
------------------------------------
Combust - R
Instant
Combust deals three damage to target creature.
Show me a black knight. Also, what I've seen, is that on the D&D boards we have two tenets
1. You can do anything with the right rules, and
2. Sometimes the splatbook stuff sucks.

Also occasionally raised is that it's really hard to do certain things. Some combat maneuvers flat-out suck, some spells suck too, some things can't be done at all at certian levels or for certain other restructions.

For example, if you want to conjure a wall, you have to wait for the 4th level Wall of Ice. That's level 8. That's a high level. Do you want to try a new shield maneuver, or a weapon trick? Better wait until a new splat comes out.Okayu that's a < lot of introcudtion. I want to try a similar, D&D post/creation game, which I'll also title, "Show me the XXXXX Request Game!" But unofficially. Okay, now I'll just introduce the game.

Choose a spell descriipnion, a feat description, or a simple item description that you'd just like to have, and to your knowledge doesn't exist, or is badly implemented in your opinion, or whatever, or your own device, after trying to the best of your ability to fufill the above request. So it'd go like this.

*random feat/spell/item*
Show me a spell that would allow you to make a wall at low levels.
----------------------
Wall of Paper - Conjuration

Level - Sor/Wiz 1; Components: V, S; Casting Time: 1 Standard action; Range: short; Target or Targets: none; Duration: instantaneous; Saving Throw: none; Spell Resistance: none

This spell creates a wall of paper 10 ft. high and 5 ft long per caster level. It has negligble thickness and is held up by a mesh of wooden rods of about half an inch diameter. It offers no neglible resistance, but does block line of effect and provide full concealment, but no cover.

This spell can be cast anywhere, and does not have to come into being anchored to a surface of any sort, although it can be chosen to have L-shaped supports if created on the ground, or affixed to any surface by any surface nails can penetrate.

If not anchored, the wall can be moved easily.

Material component: A scrap of paper.

I want to see: a feat that could help a rogue make a getaway.

Auras and creation requirements (I suggest you skip these they look boring)I know creating one of these is much more work than creating a card, but I'll give it a spin and see if anyone is interested. If you've ever wanted to see WotC do something, just try it here and go for it!

First request: Show me an area-affecting level zero spell.

Attention
Enchantment
Level: Bard 1, Sorc/Wiz 0; Components: V; Casting Time: 1 standard action; Range: 30 feet; Effect: 30' burst centering on you; Duration: 1 round; Saving Throw: Will negates; Spell Resistance: Y

With a clearing of your throat, you gain the attention of all creatures within 30 feet. They turn to look at you, and, while they continue doing what they were previously, their focus is on you.

This spell draws attention to the caster, and away from others. For 1 round, the caster gets a +1 bonus to his charisma based skills when dealing with those in the area. Those affected by the spell suffer a -1 penalty to spot and listen checks that oppose actions taken by those other than the caster, but gain a +1 bonus on those checks against the caster.

I want to see: A feat that makes Fighter 20 worth taking.

Deathly Aura
Evocation/Necromancy (Darkness,Evil,Death)
Level: Wiz/Sor 7, Cleric 8; Components: V; Casting Time: 1 action; Range: Touch; Target/targets: Equiped melee weapon of your choice; Duration: Until you next rest or you un-equip the weapon; Saving Throw: Fortitude for Circle of Death, Will for(on hit)Daze; Spell Resistance: None

This spell creates a Deathly Aura over the equiped melee weapon of your choice. Whilst the weapon is spelled, it gives you vampiric regeneration +3, a +2 bonus to strength and spell immunity (lv.4 or lower).

Not only does it give bonuses to you, it weakens enemies. Whilst equiped, the weapon gives out an aura with the same effects of Circle of Death but the Fortitude Save needs to be a total of 15 or higher to resist death. If you get a save of 15 or higher the foe is still dealt 1d6 points of damage per caster level (to a max of 20d6).

Melee damge is transformed into evil, dealing double damage to holy/divine creatures (Lawful good - Chaotic good), and healing evil/demonic creatures (Chaotic evil - Lawful evil). On hit, you have a 70% chance of the foe suffering from Daze for 1d4 rounds per two caster levels (max of 10d4). A Will save of 12 or higher negates the effect of Daze.

Overall an excellent spell, and anyone who can put up a good fight against the wielder truly deserves to be called an excellent character.

Anyone who likes this spell and wishes to comment on it, please email me with your comment at ashvike@aol.com
