| caminator1234510-28-06, 03:59 PM | my best i think was 18 strengh, 18 dex, 16 cons, 14 wis 14 charism :) |
| Seeker9510-28-06, 04:37 PM | The best character I ever rolled was Unager, a Cleric of St. Cuthbert in 1e AD&D. His traveling companions were a paladin and a wizard, Gascon and Ooswa, respectively. We played those characters from 9th grade until graduation in 1986. Best had nothing to do with his stats. |
| Suzaku45510-28-06, 04:42 PM | 18, 18 , 18, 17, 16, and 14. I rolled a 1 thus fumbled and on the fumble chart I attacked myself and I rolled a critical myself and I rolled max damage. By the way this was lvl 1 using a great axe. |
| Romtos10-28-06, 04:46 PM | Once I rolled for seven stats (we made up the Luck stat) and rolled with 3d6 and I got only 18's! Really! |
| frasmage10-28-06, 05:00 PM | my best was 14, 20, 16, 16, 16, 16, 11, including racial modifiers (halfling) that was fun |
| aelryinth10-28-06, 05:24 PM | Using the computer program that came with the original PHB, I 'rolled' stats for a character with the DM watching. 18, 18, 17, 13, 12, 10. I kind of laughed, and my halfling duellist rogue fighter was born. Str 13 Int 18 Wis 12 Dex 18 Cn 17 Ch 10 At 13th level, he had more hit points then anyone else in the party, had a better TH roll, a better AC and more skill points. If I were to redo him, he'd have swashbuckler levels instead of fighter, for the additional +Int to dmg. A good character. ===Aelryinth |
| empathicwandere10-28-06, 07:03 PM | Best I was ever able to do was for a game I was invited for, so i figured I'd get the character together so I could jump right in instead of slowing the game down. Rolled 18, 18, 17, 17, 18, 16. my friend and DM who was with me was speechless but I rerolled it in front of the guest DM to avoid being acussed of cheating. funny how when you don't you get so lucky it looks like you did. |
| CuttinCurt10-28-06, 07:15 PM | In a game long ago in 1991, I was playing in the ToEE 2nd ed. I rolled up a Cleric of Selune (we put the ToEE in Faerun). We were allowed 4d6, take the top three. Our DM said that if we rolled (4) 6's, then we could have a 19. As you know, 19 in 2nd ed (wis) was quite powerful. It gave imunities to 1st level mind affecting spells, and extra spells at 2nd and 4th level spell slots. I had a Str-13, int-14, Wis-19, Dex-18, Con-16, Chr-13 Although not unbelieveably amazing, this character stood out above all others. And like a previous poster stated, this character stood out for reasons other than a 19wis. It was my favorite cleric of all time, and I got him to 13th level, which, in 2nd ed, was quite an accomplishment. It took me 2 years of gaming at 3 nights a month to get him that high. I will never forget my cleric. CC |
| RogerWilco10-28-06, 08:29 PM | I only rolled one character, and that was my 2nd edition Halfling, so it would be STR9 DEX17, CON13, INT9 WIZ9 CHA8, with Halfling modifiers became STR8 DEX18 CON13 INT9 WIS9 CHA8. But he was fun to play, we played until level 9 in about 4 years. Last year we went point buy when we switched the campaign to v3.5. And I prefer the Arcane Hierophant I'm playing since. |
| Bongitybongbong10-28-06, 10:36 PM | Thokk, the half-orc barbarian slayed many a bugbear until a level-5 bugbear came and torn out his intestines. He attacked a bugbear city and killed with a level 2 druid and ten level 1 NPC's about 30 bugbears and set the city into chaos and fire before he raged into a level 5 bugbear chief and got critted against. Thokk was so awesome being that he was level 2. |
| Krugg10-28-06, 10:49 PM | The best stats I've had for a character (and I usually roll REALLY well for stats) was for a Half-Orc Monk that I'm still technically playing (everyone moved to different colleges, so we won't really get a chance to play unless everyone is home at the same time). Anyway, my roll was 18, 18, 17, 16, 16, 11. With racial modifiers that's STR 18; DEX 17; CON 16; INT 14; WIS 18; and CHA 9. |
| Andron10-29-06, 08:56 AM | I am unusally lucky with the dice and all my numbers usually come up 14 or higher, this is using the 4d6 take the best 3; which is what we've always used since '79. I've been accused of fudging numbers many times, until I started rolling in front of the DM and they saw how lucky I get. I've also been accused of having loaded dice. This goes across the board for all rolls of the dice. Now that I DM and my players have gotten used to the fact that I roll extremely well, I no longer bother rolling in front of them. I can only use these powers for good, though, and never for personal gain. ;) |
| DwarvinJedi10-29-06, 09:41 AM | Though not the best, I believe it was the most lucky. I rolled a 3d6 straight down D20 Modern character and got 2 8s(in Str and Wis) 2 16s (Dex and Con) and 2 18s(Int and Cha) |
| Krusk10-29-06, 03:17 PM | my half ogre barbarian. befor racial mods str-18 dex-16 con-18 int-4 wis-12 cha-16 Overall the character was more of a gorilla with a greataxe than a humanoid. I loved playing it, but the game only lasted a couple of sessions due to them dm losing interest. we started at level 5. |
| Imban10-29-06, 03:21 PM | My best statistic roll would probably be a Sorceror with 8/12/16/11/12/18 or thereabouts. Not actually good. I've seen someone roll 18/18/18/18/18/18 on 4d6 keep 3, though. |
| Carai_al_Caldazar10-29-06, 03:30 PM | Currently I'm playing a Human Cleric (lvl 6) of Tyr (LG-diety) . Together with a Paladin of Tyr we are adventuring in/around Melvaunt (Moonsea area/Fearun) which is a N/NE city. And we have the 'ambition' to bring justice to Malvaunt. Anyway... I have no clue how succesfull they will have, but playing him is a lot of fun. His stats are: str: 16 dex: 12 con: 18 (+1 @ 4th lvl) int: 14 wis: 18 cha: 17 (which will be 18 @ 8th lvl) As you can understand, I didn't complain about this throw.. :D |
| Dragon Snack10-29-06, 03:34 PM | First character I ever played had all 18s (well, technically an 18/00 Strength). They rolled 3 d20s, take the best for each stat though... |
| Vestigial_Thumb10-29-06, 03:37 PM | I once played a Sorcerer gish with Str: 17 Dex: 18 Con: 18 Int: 16 Wis: 12 Cha: 18 At level 1, he rocked at combat. He also rocked in combat at every level after that. |
| Einvaldurinn_mikli10-29-06, 05:33 PM | I once played a Sorcerer gish with Str: 17 Dex: 18 Con: 18 Int: 16 Wis: 12 Cha: 18 At level 1, he rocked at combat. He also rocked in combat at every level after that. With those stats it would be hard not to man. Anyways, my best stat set was something like: 18,18,18,17,16,12. It was for a campaign that never really started up. Kinda made me sad. Best set that I have played with was 18,12,18,16,16,10. It was a Dwarven Fighter using a Goliath Greathammer. The Dm allowed me to take improved power attack and Supreme Power attack as feats. It was wild. As a side note, my luck with that character was insane, I actually rolled max hitpoints on every level until 8. I had a 128 Hp on level 8 |
| Sivis10-29-06, 07:26 PM | I played as a gnome wizard (who loved necromancery) and he got, no joke, I got all 20s (before racial). He was coolio, the 90s brought so many wonderful things. |
| Particle_Man10-29-06, 07:34 PM | I got an 18/00 once. But the game only lasted one session and then died. :( |
| Ateth_Istarlin10-31-06, 04:41 AM | If you mean stats - then it was Ulgreth my 1/2Orc Mage Str: 20 Dex: 14 Con: 16 Int: 16 Wis: 15 Chr: 12 I rolled them in front of my DM, who thought I was mad for making him a Mage - Until our first adventure, when Ulgreth killed more foes in melee combat than the fighters!:) If you mean best overall, then it has to be Greenleaf (my first Elf character (back in BECMI) - I transfered him over to 1E AD&D & he retired as a 10/12 Ftr/M-U.:D |
