I am getting into planescape and looking at old 1st edition planescape adventures, I was wondering what were the best origonal adventures in planescape for 1st edition?

Was Planescape in 1st edition? I thought that was a 2nd edition thing.

In 1e, the only published planar material I know of is Q1 - Queen of the Demonweb Pits and H4 - Throne of Bloodstone, and Manual of the Planes I think.

My experience with 2e Planescape material is absolutely nil.

In any case, www.paizo.com has a number of downloadable products for Planescape.

Yes I see them on RPGNOW website there are so many though, I don't know which ones are good and which ones aren't. I thought planescape was 1e I quess its 2e then. They are listed under 1e on the website so must be their mistake.

I am asking this so I can just choose the adventures that everyone knows about and discard the ones that aren't any good because they are expensive at $5 a pop ; I might just by a bunch from ebay instead.

Deva Spark & Faction War were pretty good adventures. However, I would hold off on running Faction War till you reach a point that you want to actually end the campaign. Without ruining the adventure for you, it changes the politics and the direction of planescape greatly.

Heh. I just bought pretty much all of the old Planescape stuff from Paizo (it's 2e, BTW, and Paizo has it for $4 each if you're paying $5 somewhere else). Haven't looked through it all yet but I liked Dead Gods quite a bit. In the Abyss looks pretty good but I haven't explored it fully. Tales from the Infinite Stairway seems pretty cool as well.

NB. I figure $4 is a good price per product - cheaper than I can find it used - but I regret not having the poster maps, etc. The stuff in the PDFs seems poorly scanned because I tried screenshotting it and putting it together in Photoshop but couldn't get everything to match up. Wish they had just scanned it original size as a single page.

Also, for anyone who doesn't know Planescape, this is all good stuff and mostly fluff - so converting to 3.5e or 4e isn't too much of a big deal (especially if you have the 2e core books and are familiar with the rules).

Dead Gods is absolutely fantastic. My party had a couple a years of fun with that one and the associated side-treks. I didn't run the prequel to this - the Great Modron March, but it does not seem to be as well received.

The Eternal Boundary gives an initial immersive feel for Sigil and the planes, (and the Deaders are a must for any fan of the Planescape:Torment CRPG).

Something Wild was great to get your players shaken up a bit. The point when they start losing themselves to their inner beast was great for roleplaying. And you've got to love the Cat Lord. :D

Of the others (I haven't played them but I have read them all), Harbringer House and the Deva Spark look the most interesting if you can fit them in to your campaign.
