12-26-07, 06:12 AM Does anyone know anywhere these mages along with the others stats are, if they've ever been statted that is?

12-26-07, 06:58 AM As far as I know, they have not been printed in 3.X. When mentioned, it is in the way of "Wizard 17", "Wizard 21/Archmage 5" or the like.

12-26-07, 07:01 AM Melf was an elven Wizard from Krynn I think, don't know if he's in the Dragonlance CS.
Mordenkainen is the iconic Archmage of Greyhawk. I'm sure he's been stated somewhere.

12-26-07, 08:28 AM The Circle of Eight have been statted out for 1E, in an old aventure. I think it's "Vecna Lives" but it might be another of the vecna adventures. I have it at home, but I can't really remember which one it is for sure. I'll look tonight if no one has said for sure by then.

12-26-07, 04:31 PM All of them have stats, in one way or another. They were the very first wizards of the very first D&D games ever played.

The trick is, finding conversions of those stats into something recognizable ;). A very select few are floating around in some of the suplements, but as a whole, they are legendary, and have basicly transcended stats.

12-26-07, 05:03 PM Living Greyhawk Journal Issue 0, a freebie that came with Dragon magazine when 3rd edition came out, had stats for these wizards. It used to be available on the WotC site, but I don't see it anymore.

They are in fact all Greyhawk wizards, so you might try posting in the Greyhawk forum here, someone probably has the stats on their machine to post for you.

12-26-07, 10:00 PM As stated, all of these legendary characters (including Melf) hail from Greyhawk.
They've been statted out numerous times over the years. I have several 1st ed AD&D versions, several 2nd ed AD&D & (for some of them) 3.x versions.

And conversions aren't that hard. All you need is some version of their levels & stats. After that it's just a matter of plugging in the current modifiers/bonuses/#s/etc.....

Most of these characters were actually PCs and NPCs in one of Gygax's original campaigns so they definitely did have 1e or pre advanced D&D stats back in the day.

Mordenkainen was Gygax's character. Tenser was played by his son. Bigby I think was a henchman. Rigby (the cleric) was another henchman that I believe later became a PC during one of Robert Kuntz's campaigns. Robilar was Kuntz's own character. I think Yrag (a fighter) and Otis (a ranger who appeared in the Temple of Elemental Evil) were also PC's of some of the other original players.
