I think the padding they used on the front and back cover is too thick and puts strain on the binding. Anyway, for $75 I'd expect it to be built more solidly. Sam ps: The special edition DMG might have the same problem. |

You should talk to someone there, you might be able to get a new one. It's hard to tell though, there are a lot of ways for a book to go bad or you to get a bad printing. (Even with two, it's just unlikely not impossible.) |

It seems like its going to be difficult to get sympathy on this, I'm afraid. Lord knows why they produced a special edition PHB, but... you paid 250% of the price for a slick-looking black cover. Its just... wow, gonna be hard to put this delicately... they made it for profit's sake, and that's what they got. How much strain has the book been under? Placed between other books? Maybe in a backpack of some sort? |
| sam50012-31-06, 02:37 AM | It's been used same as my other 2 standard PHB's which are 2 years older and are fine. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the spine having too much strain on it due to the thick covers. I don't think a new one will fix the problem, it's probably indicative of the production. The pages in the book are cut unevenly as well. Overall I'm very underwhelmed with the quality of this product. You'd think as a luxury item they would have put some proper effort into making sure they wouldn't fall apart after minimal wear. Pooh. |

The binding didn't come loose, the spine didn't get a little floppy, it fell the f&#k apart, with the whole cover coming off. It was the most craptastic gift ever. |
