It states in the BVD that you can create undead with the bone template with a spell such as Create Undead or Greater Create Undead. It indicates that the animate dead isn't quite powerful enough, but to me this implies that the create would be created along the lines of an animate dead spell, but only powered by a Create Undead. Create Undead requires that you command the undead and Animate dead doesn't. The bone undead are definately more powerful than a regular skeleton, but not as powerful as a "free willed" undead that you could normally create with command undead. So, my question: Is this essentially just a glorified "Animate Dead" in this case, or do the Bone creatures have to be commanded as you would by casting a straight create undead and creating a ghoul, ghast, Mummy, etc. Thanks for the help!
