How is it going everyone? Well I have got creative juices flowing and for the past few days. I have been writing a story which I will hope to become a novel length some time soon so I can try to get it published. I'm sure some of you have read about my half -orc paladin of bahamut. I also included a weretiger monk, human hexblade as well as a dwarven cleric and elven wizard. I have supporting adventurers: A psychotic halfling barbarian and a gnome bard. Well I already know what I am going to write about.

But I am quite lost since the only books I have for campaign setting is Eberron, but the problem is that I would have to change my party quite a bit since the main 3.5 gods are not around in eberron. I think the core 3.5 universe is greyhawk, but I don't have that gazette. What I am asking is for any suggestions about how I should go about this. Should I just change my party around to fit an Eberron style since that is the new direction or just get the old greyhawk gazette. Becuase its a pain to try to make up cities and such when your writing.

Any and all creative feedback is appreciated!

You're talking about a work of fiction, not a campaign correct? If so, make up your own world. That provides you the most flexibility from a story point of view, because should you ever need somebody to be a certain race, or have a certain ability, or spell or whatever - just create it.

I thank you for that. It is something I know would be easier for me to write. But, the whole reason why its a debate is two things:

1 - I kind of want to maybe if it gets completed. I seriously wanted to get it published through WOTC so I wanted to make it relevant.

2 - I'm a lazy ass to try to create my own world. I just want a world that I can use and exhaust my creative juices on the story, characters, dialogue, and action.

Besides I'm a busy college student. So, I want to have as much time as I can possibly squeeze! But I'm glad I got input. I encourage everyone else to put their two cents. Well have a good one everyone!

Good luck man, WotC is pretty **** about contracting writers out for specific projects and stuff. They have their own agendas for their worlds, and pretty much hire authors to write for certain events and conflicts. If you get published, send my ass a copy.

Actually, if you want to get published by WotC right now is a good time. They've put out an open call for a new novel. You can find info by clickity clicking here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=books/main/opencall2004).
