Book of Nine Swords Q. [Archive] - Wizards Community

Not sure where to post this so if this isn't the best spot, please let me know.

Is there an official FAQ about the Book of Nine Swords? I'm creating a Swordsage and have a bunch of questions, not the least of which is;

Do you hvae to use a Disciplines chosen weapons when you are using a manuever or stance from that Discipline? If so (or not) where does it say this?

09-07-07, 07:30 PM You do not have to use the favored weapons. There is nothing in the book that specifically says you have to use them. They are favored, in that they're typically used by the practitioners of the respective schools, but that is not the same as mandatory. You just get Cool Things when using the favored weapons with certain maneuvers while having certain feats and certain class features.

And there is a Tome of Battle FAQ in the Character Optimization forums.

If you did, then why would you, as a Swordsage, at first level, need to ready maneuvers you couldn't use? o.O

Where do they say you don't need to? In saying nowhere that you do.

09-09-07, 06:30 AM Favored Weapons only seem to matter for the feats associated with some disciplines, not for the actual manuevers.
