I recently ordered by mail Heroes of Horror, along with some other arcane collections, while I was pleased with the material, I found that there was, and is, a large dent in the top edge of the cover. The plastic film is lightly peeld and the cardboard esk material is visable underneath, while it does not render the book hideous, it is a noticable flaw.
Aside from duct tape, does anyone know of some sealing material that would prevent the cover from taking more damge from use, and would not be more noticeable than the small slightly peeled dent?

First, check with the retailer to see if they will replace it.
If not, go to your local university library and see what binding service they use for their journal collections.
