07-20-07, 08:42 PM Can someone give me a short summary of what the psionics stuff is? I want to know how it compares to the other books out there like Tome of Battle, etc. etc. Is it worth having or only if it's "your thing."

Psionics is an awesome alternative to Vancian casting (the spell slots system presented in the Player's Handbook), and it also expands the options of characters who don't focus on spellcasting. I recommend it unconditionally.

07-20-07, 09:24 PM If Psykers were the magic aspect and ToB were the melee aspect to D&D the game would be alot more balanced,

Having said that i don't personally like Psionics in general. It does add alot of new mechanics to the game and thats never a bad thing.

I tend to treat psy power on a racial level. I wouldn't have Mind Flayers that weren't Psionic, but i don't want every tom dick and harry being psykers either.

I like it when its special and something new for the PC's to deal with (and only every now and again play)

But in my world everything is non-transparent so when a Psion shows up it can be a TPK really quick (but every form of magic in my world is non-transparent so even Arcane and Divine casters are weary of each other)

07-21-07, 12:12 AM Well A Psion is Weaker then a Wizard, Cleric or Druid but is much more powerful then a fighter or barbarian. Many of the links posted should give you more then enough information on psionics.
