soille 03-21-06, 05:21 PM	hi guys i'm returning to the fold after a long time i'm gonna be DMing some games for my kids & - i know this is gonna get alot of replies - i was wondering if i could get some ideas on where to start with easing them into the game... you know the sort of thing, easiest characters, NPC's that sort of thing as i said it's been a looooong time :)

GEEKAZOID 03-21-06, 08:43 PM	Check out ebay for an old edition of the Basic D&D game. The red one with the blonde wizard, spearman and dragon. Once they get the hang of the game ease them into 3E.
StinkinSith 03-21-06, 08:49 PM	I have a little adventure that I like to use for new players. It can even be used for DM's that have only a single player. It's a take-off on "Little Red Riding Hood". Trust me it's really cool. Its familiar enough territory so that even if someone isn't a big fantasy enthusiast they can still enjoy it and feel comfortable with the setting.
LCD2YOU 03-21-06, 09:14 PM	Easiest characters? Like to play? That's easy, Fighters or Barbarrians. Wind 'em up, put 'em on the board and let them hack away! But the three core books, Dungeon Masters' Guide, DMG, Players' Guide, PHB, and last but not least Monster Manual, MM.
