Okay, I don't want detailed info about it as I am about to play in it, but is the titular plague a magical phenomenon? I am thinking of playing a wizard who heard of it, and came to investigate.

Kind of; it's hard to explain any futher without getting too detailed. I have DM'd this adventure, a few times, and I don't believe a wizard would be in a position to have heard of it prior to becoming involved in the adventure.

Too bad. And I was going to have my plot hook already figured in.

Perhaps the hook is that your wizard has heard of it and thinks it may be magical, thus he has come to investigate.

Yeah, that will probably work. With the way I see my character, he keeps his ears to the ground for any new magical discoveries, and a "mysterious illness that just appeared" is something that might interest him. Either do that, or play a Cleric of Hextor who demands that, in exchange for freeing the town from the oppression of the plague, he is given lordship over it.

agreed... the way i kind of thaught about it was like... think resident evil, but the plague is spread thru contact or ingestion

I am using this adventure as the springboard for my new campaign and I have to say there is little likelihood that a mage will know anyhting about it. Coming to the town to investigate thinking it may be magical is a good idea though.

It's a fun little adventure, I'm interested to hear what you think once you play it.
