| Lord Gwydion07-14-05, 12:54 AM | Table 3-1 is the table that lists generic BAB and Save progressions, right? I believe so, but don't have the books handy. Anyway, you don't add the progressions in the individual class advancement charts to it. EVER. You do, however, add progressions in individual class advancements to each other, so as ydirbut said, choice 3 is the correct way to calculate it. |
| Ranger REG07-18-05, 05:42 AM | How the hell you get "+12/+2"? This is easy since all three classes are martial-oriented and have the same BAB progression (i.e., +1/level). Try mixing with other classes with different progression. |
| Zherog07-18-05, 07:58 AM | Option 1 is actually more correct than option 3. As REG said, you add your BAB from all the classes together to get your overall BAB. If we were talking about a Fighter 2/Cleric 2/Wizard 2, our BAB would be 4 - 2 from fighter, 1 from cleric, and 1 from wizard. We'd have a good BAB (fighter), a medium (Cleric), and a poor (wizard). |
| Escef07-18-05, 08:04 AM | How the hell you get "+12/+2"? He gets it by erroneously adding "+6/+1" to itself. To compute when you get extra attacks from high BAB subtract 5 from the number, if the result is 1 or higher that number is at what bonus you get your next attack at, repeat the process until you get a result of 0 or less. E.g.: +6/+1, +11/+6/+1, +12/+7/+2, etc. Note that you only get these extra attacks (often referred to as "iteritive") on a full attack action (no movement except a 5 foot step allowed). You also do not add other modifiers to BAB when computing extra attacks, so that +4 from strength does not change a +2 into a +6/+1. |
