I am venturing into drawing fantasy art and did a fairly successful Succubus with a long sword tonight. It freaked my husband out, so it must at least capture the spirit... If you play one or would just like a copy of the sketch (free) .........I will try to post it shortly.

Because this totally doesn't look suspicious or anything... You can just post the picture on the boards. Doesn't make you look like you're up to something.

Sure thing. Look above were you type. See the little yellow box with the mountains on it (in between the paper with the envelope in front of it and the little word bubble)? Click on that and input the location of your picture.

Holy ^$*% on a sandwich with *%#*& on top! THIS.IS.AWESOME!!! The anatomy is great, the wings are magnificent (although there is something wrong with them) and her face is gorgeous. The sword is well done as it's the magic around it. So, please post more!

On other news, I can't wait to see the illithid :dancin:

What, there's more than one? OK, now I gotta research before I paint her. Thanks!

Well, in 1.0-3.x, succubi fare from the Abyss. They seem to usually have reddish hair, but they can really look any way you like. Artistic license is a freedom artists have, you know...

Succubi are demons, thus, from the abyss. There are several variations if you do enough research, but that could be attributed to being different individual succubi.

The closest devil (from hell) would likely be the erinyes, though they're quite a bit more physical when it comes to actual combat.

Of course, once you steer away from D&D definitions all bets are off. :P

Edit: Oh yeah, awesome picture by the way. I wish I could draw a quarter as well. :weep:

That is a very good picture. What inspired you to put the mask on?

RE: Mask

Untill I did this drawing and showed her to my husband I had no idea what it/she was, I know that sounds wierd, but I just drew her. So the mask was what I saw. She seemed so sneeky, and the dark, ink stained eyes seemed right. When I paint her I think it will make her eyes more dramatic...

Glad you liked it- Niki Zee

Beautiful, I like the idea of that Sword...

SO I finished the painting, take a look. It's alot harder with watercolors than I thought, but I like her "hot" look.

The mask does indeed contribute a roguish/devious look -- nice touch.

Excellent work, you should crack open the Monster Manual, and find some more "inspiration". I know all of us would love to see more of your work. Keep it up and maybe Wizards will send you an application. ;)

Wow, thanks! I'm speechless. I have fallen into a world I love, what could be more glorious. This is only the start...If I'm this obsessed at 10 months into the game, just think about another year!

Thanks again, you inspire me.

Feel like drawing an at least half-way decent picture of Mialee? It would be a first.
Any way, great art!! You should put it in your sig, along with all these compliments. Your ego sig could be huge!!
Ever thought of drawing for Wizards?

I wanna see what work u do on that ilthid. And could we get a new picture of Asmodeus. The fiendish codex one makes him look like hes starving in my opinion.

09-03-07, 12:59 AM
O and could we get a larger version of your colored succubus? please?
SarahADG

09-03-07, 09:27 AM
If you want a larger file of the Succubus, please e-mail me off this clat and I will be happy to send it to you.

sarahgayleart@aim.com

Not trying to be difficult, there is just alot of warnings about loosing the rights to your art if you post it here, wizzards apparently can own it...

Aren't assumptions interesting? In the original B&W picture I thought she looked blonde, but then you rendered the coloured copy with black hair. I think the coloured one looks better "balanced"; the original looked slightly gangly but the colour seems to balance it out. And the background is (to my untrained eye) excellent: good focus and good contrast really highlight the picture.

Two minor critiques (in my untrained opinion), the sword-wrist looks slightly limp; as if she's not actually bearing the weight of the sword, and the magic aura effect from the sword just looks odd to me. In contrast, I think rest looks great, especially the shading, shadow and colour on the wings: it looks very 3-D and "real".

As for WotC owning it, well, sort of. Wizards owns the contents of every post everyone makes on these boards. However, in order to get an image on here it must be first uploaded elsewhere. This is effectively publishing it. So, depending on the terms of the agreement with imageshack, either they (imageshack) or you own the picture. WotC, however, does not. You are merely posting the image "with the artist's permission", which does not confer ownership of the image to WotC.

As of 4th edition all Succubi are Devils.
Pbbbbbt, as far as I'm concerned but there we are.

wow....you're stuff is better then some/all/most of WoTC's....I enjoy pencil drawing a fair bit, but everything I've seen just blows mine out of the water; as someone posted earlier, you should take some descriptions form the monster manual (preferably 3.5) and redo/make up some stuff.

Amazing...
