| WizO_Dabus11-01-03, 11:23 AM | I NEED anyone who is currently running a game in a game room on the wizards chatsite to tell me when, what room and what setting etc. If you want to write a description of it for all the world to see , then please do. I am trying to get the gaming schedule back up and running, but it's going in babysteps. Also, if you're running a game there and want more players, we can help with that too. Just tell me. Please understand, if you are currently running a game online and don't tell me, then it may get cut and the room given to someone else. I know the rooms have games that have been going on for years, but the old schedule is gone and I personally have no record of who games where and when. Thanks so much for your cooperation! | ORC_Paradox11-01-03, 11:54 AM | The Crystal Truths: Flames of War A FR game run in the Xak Room 2:00 PST (5:00 PM EST) to 6:00 PST (9:00 EST, though lately we've been going to 8.) (Eh, I don't have a description at this time.) |
| Mr.Waesel11-01-03, 02:41 PM | What time is that CET (GMT +1)? |
| WizO_Dabus11-02-03, 10:39 AM | Originally posted by Mr.Waesel What time is that CET (GMT +1)? For future reference, to get CET time, simply add 9 hours to the PT time. Dabus |
| UberBanshee11-04-03, 06:37 PM | I hoped to get a game started tonight (November 4th, 2003) at 7:00 P.M. mountain time. I hope this is not too urgent for you. My setting is homebrew. I hope I can use the dungeon chatroom, please. |
| WizO_Dabus11-05-03, 12:13 AM | Since Dungeon is a pick-up room, it's first come- first serve. So feel free to use it for games. As long as it's an actual game (not free forming) then we're thrilled :) Just make sure no one else is using it first. Lair is the other pick-up gameroom. I didn't see the post til after your game would have started, but I hope you got a lot of players! Cheers, Dabus |
| UberBanshee11-05-03, 12:47 AM | Nice of you to wish me luck, and many players besides. I know that you have reserve chat rooms here as well. If at all possible, I would love to reserve one (whichever is most convenient for you) for this coming Thursday (November the 6th, 2003) at 7:00 P.M. Mountain Time, so as to play a game there. The meeting of which I wrote you first was a success, and I hope to cement it into a permanent game as soon as I've ironed all of the last, tiny wrinkles out. I will inform you when it seems stable enough to reserve frequently. So far, the schedule that we have is Thursdays and Sundays from 7:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. every week. As I said, I would like to be absolutely sure that it's permanent before formally requesting that this slot be reserved for us. You also wanted to know some other facts about the setting, did you not? It is a homerew that takes some of my favorite elements of different settings (such as the Underdark, and, more importantly, the Weave) and incorporates them into a vibrant, if dismal, world. The magic of the world functions in the Weave and the Shadow weave. The Weave is controlled by Tornamis, the Diety of Magic, and the Shadow weave is controlled by devils. You risk your soul using it, and the world has sunken into despair and dark times as a result (there is also another, secret force behind this progression, but that remains to be seen). It is basic medieval fantasy other than that, with a technological bent (steam and golems and things populate the world). I have not yet named the world, but I would not recieve advice on that here, leaving it to the topic it was meant for. I think this about covers things, WizO_dabus. I hope you are pleased with the information and willing to help with my requests. Banshee (Black_Banshee in chat) |
| WizO_Dabus11-07-03, 11:45 PM | Banshee, Thank you for your request for the game room. I am afraid once again, I didn't see the post until it was too late. There is a 1-2 day turnover for me to get to the boards and be able to work on the schedule, so please forgive me for seeming to be late on things. I will get your game on the schedule for a room as soon as I can and I'll post my results here. I know you don't have it set in cement as you said, but I can easily change any date and time for the game. When you get a name for it, let me know. thanks Also, it may be faster to get a response if you email me at dabus@wizardsmoderator.com WizO_Dabus |
| WizO_Dabus11-12-03, 10:59 PM | Banshee and anyone else... You have a set day and time you prefer for your game? If anyone else wants to reserve a room, this is the best place to do it. Just let me know and I'll get you and your game on the Gaming Schedule (http://www.geocities.com/wizo_dabus) If you prefer email, please send me a message at dabus@wizardsmoderator.com Thanks! Mrs. Dabus |
| WizO_Dabus11-13-03, 12:28 PM | Banshee, All set. Xak Tsaroth is all yours on Thursdays and Sundays from 5-7 pm PT (6-8pm MT). You can view the info for your game on the Games Schedule (Link is in my sig) I emailed you with other questions, so I'll await that reply. >>>>>>>>>> Any others out there who want your games seen by the world? ;) I know the Games Schedule is a bit rudimentary for now, but when we get organized with other WotC staff, we will get it on the main www.wizards.com pages. Then your game will be seen by even more people, I'm sure. If you are worried about room size restrictions, email me and I will see what I can do. If you don't like the dicebots... well I can't help you there, but if you find a bot you like (each room has one and they all tend to have their own personalities) then you can request that room. You do NOT have to have your game in the room specific to your setting. For instance Xak Tsaroth is of course a DL name, but you can run a FR or PS or homebrew game there if you like - especially if you prefer Hiss the dicebot over SnakeEyes or Bones. Please if you get to your reserved room and someone else is there, don't cause an uproar, just PM the DM and discuss what's going on. Most are happy to move (some people do play pick-up games in reserved room - but they can move to Dungeon or Lair or Labyrinth) If PMing the DM doesn't work, please PM the wizo on duty and we'll try to sort it all out. Thanks again to all who come to Wizards chat to game and help support our site! Mrs. WizO_Dabus |
| hillamae12-29-03, 02:30 PM | Hi I'm new to the game (so far I love it). I was wondering if you were aloud to come and watch other people play. I want to watch some pros play because some things I still don't understand yet. Not too good with the game yet lol.:) |
| Lothlorien03-01-04, 05:11 AM | I was wondering how I could get into a game run in the WoTC chatrooms. If anyone is looking for players then I would be willing to play with you, if my schedule and yours doesn't conflict. |
| Funny03-11-04, 02:25 PM | I hate to sound like I'm advertising, but I just wanted to say anyone looking for a small, quiet environment to start a message-board style game should check out VBDX (a link there is at my site). We are searching for more players and DM's. As for a Chat room game, how do the mods. handle gaps between messages? Surely you don't expect players to go 24 hrs. a day? |
| WizO_Dabus05-04-04, 04:48 PM | Originally posted by Funny As for a Chat room game, how do the mods. handle gaps between messages? Surely you don't expect players to go 24 hrs. a day? A chatroom game is conducted the same as a tabletop game -- the players all get together in one of the game rooms on the Wizards chatsite (or in an IM room on mIRC, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, etc.) and play. Our game rooms have dicebots, so everyone can roll where the GM can see it, and private messaging makes it easy to communicate in secret. It's a handy way to play if you live in an area without fellow gamers or if you want to continue playing with a group of people after you move away. It's also a great way to play with people from around the world...I've run games with people in England, Turkey, Australia, and three different time zones in the U.S., all at the same time. |
| Zherog05-04-04, 04:55 PM | AIM also has a built in dicebot, for those looking to use that. I don't believe Yahoo! does (though I could be wrong), but there are a fair number of external sites you can use for that, too. |

| WizO_LadyDabus09-18-04, 05:19 PM | Cold Zero, email me at dabus@wizo.wizards.com with the screen name you'd like and I'll see what I can do about getting you on and show you a gaming room. There are tons now and you can email the DMs to see about getting into the games you are interested in. Covert> email admin@wizo.wizards.com WizO_Hydragon is now in charge of the prizes and he can make sure you're taken care of. | lordvoldemorten09-25-04, 05:07 AM | Hi there and well met! I've played D&D for 4 years now, but for the last 2 years I have only been DM'ing. I really miss playing a character, but I don't know any DMs. I would really like to join a campaign on wizards chat with a 1st lvl char, but I don't know who to write. Is anybody running a new campaign right now? If you do please tell me. |
| GuruChaz10-01-04, 12:28 PM | I didn't even know there was an online gameroom for D&D games. This needs to be more publicly advertised. I only just found out about it after clicking on this thread out of curiousity. Many people are probably being left out that want to play simply because they don't know about this. |
| necromancer78711-10-04, 04:10 PM | Im w/ Lorien if anyone needs a player I'm in! |
| BloodGod11-24-04, 03:46 PM | I just found this whole playing in chats and whatnot. I've always had to DM in games over AIM because no one ever wanted to DM, only play. But, now I'd like a chance to get back to playing. So, I tried registering. Now, maybe I'm missing something or doing this wrong, but, I put in my birthdate, then click 'Submit Birthdate". Then it takes me to the next page for my sn and email. I put it in. Hit submit. Am I supposed to be sent back to the 'Birthdate' page or am I doing something wrong or is something wrong? Please help. I'd very much like to get into a game. -BG |
| BagleyJ198112-04-04, 01:03 AM | I am having the same problem as BloodGod. Whenever I attempt to register for a chat name, I keep getting redirected back to the birthdate entry page. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
