campaign question [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-23-07, 03:02 PM I'm not sure if this is the right forum but i was wondering if any body have any ideas on a good campaign for a new GM to do just a basic outline on some that you have done would be very helpful thank you.

07-23-07, 04:05 PM What level campaign do you wish to run? Also, what style are you interested in? Horror? Standard hack and slash? LoTR style epic? Gritty street adventure? There's a lot to choose from.

07-23-07, 05:06 PM its going to be a 1st lvl campaign and i think i want to have a LoZ style where the pc's have to go from dungeon to dungeon obtaining special items

07-23-07, 10:03 PM I would maybe recommend Barrow of the Forgotten King. It's a largely dungeon adventure that can be adapted to a variety of settings. It's meant to be the first in a set of three adventures - the second one has come out recently, if I recall correctly - and a large portion takes place in an underground dungeon.

You can also adapt the Sunless Citadel adventure, which is a 3.0 adventure, and a nice intro to D&D. It's more of a one-shot, but pretty good.

I'd also add the entire series of 3.0 Core Modules, especially The Forge of Fury. They are easily linked together as a series, with a short break from the dungeon in The Speaker in Dreams, which provides a great example of an urban adventure design.

They should be easy enough to get still. I still see them in stores, and Amazon should have them or one of their vendors. You could try ebay if you're willing.
