Campaign Settings [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-22-07, 01:49 AM Well I may have to DM a session soon and I have DMed in the past, just I've never used a campaign setting and regret doing so a good amount of the time. I looked through an Eberron Campaign Setting today and while it had tons of information about the world of Eberron, I didn't see any premade adventures in the book. Do any books come with pre-made adventures to make my life easier and I can focus more on the rules? I'm planning to have the characters start at level 1 if I DM.

08-22-07, 02:04 AM The Eberon setting has some pretty cool stuff in it but if you haven't DM'd in a while I would suggest downlaoding the adventures like Waldo_di suggested. Most of the ones on the Wizards site are non-setting specific and are written well enough that it helkps you the DM get into the flow of the game before tackling any of your own creations

Actually, the eberron CS does have a module in the back of it, though its not much of one. But there are several premade adventures for eberron, with the low level one starting immediately after the one in the back of the eberron book.

08-22-07, 03:21 AM I'm actually looking at the Eberron first campaign setting. It's exactly the kind of thing I want and now I know what to look for. Thanks for the help. Just one question, some of these seem like non-encounter type things. It says EL 1, 2, 3 etc. For the non-combat scenarios, should experience be given out by the EL? I know combat is given by the CR of the monsters individually.

08-22-07, 09:49 AM I'd award xp based on what the party has to defeat. For example, the encounter with the Sharn City Guard, even if the party talks their way out the encounter, they still defeated the encounter. So award XP per the CR of the creatures. Indeed, point out that you are awarding XP for those encounters to encourage players to not just hack through everything.
