| Ntropy07-03-05, 01:38 PM | Ok I apologize if this is a really stupid question, but is there really a search function on these boards? The FAQ in the "my account" area says: ------------------------------------- Can I search the forum? You can search for posts based on username, word(s) in the post or just in the subject, by date, and only in particular forums. To access the search feature, click on the "search" link at the top of most pages. You can search any forum that you have permission to search - you will not be allowed to search through private forums unless the administrator has given you the necessary security rights to do so. ------------------------------------- But This (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=137244) board FAQ says: ------------------------------------------------------------ If you can't find an answer in these, there is always the Search function. Its at the bottom of every page, and can be used to search particular boards, or all of them at once, for threads that pertain to your query. --------------------------------------------------- And, well, maybe im just an idiot but I dont see a search function on either the top or the bottom of any pages, other than the "Search Wizzards" button which is appartantly just for their website, not the forums. Can sombody tell me exactly where the search funtion is? |

| Otto the Bugbear07-03-05, 03:02 PM | I've seen it said that when the search is working, the boards get all wonky and super-slow. From my experience, that's all too true. The mods/techies are supposedly working on fixing up all the problems. If the best way to keep the boards running smoothly is no search, then I'm all for that. They say to use the Google advanced search based on the boards' url, but that doesn't exactly work very well. Your best bet is just to make requests for the subject at hand, either in existing posts or in a new thread. Cheers Otto :) |
