Imagine as a child, you are being raised by people of questionable morality. You know what they're doing is wrong, but because you are part of this family that rules the city/whatever, there's nothing you can say or do to stop it. So, is LG the real alignment? Any suggestions?

LG would be "play by the rules, but be lenient" in this situation. Though I'm not sure they would last very long, as they might be killed/exiled/subjected to the inquisition for "conduct contrary to society" or some such. Its sort of the reverse of the "evil member of an otherwise good family" scenario.

What does your very-briefly-described scenario have to do with the alignment of the child?

Eh, it was gonna be a level one character's backstory background, but that game fell through.

Really you can justify a persons outlook regardless of their life backround. Some people who live normal lives turn psycho (CE), or into jerks (LE), others who were abused become heroes (Any good). You never know. :P
