Umm, Hi!

I was wondering if someone could tell where I could get my hands on a Dice set. Perhaps sounds silly, after all you all could tell me to go to a hobby store or something. I live near Chula Vista here on California, and I´m new to the game. I already got the three core rule books, and a basic set, but I really want to get a dice set. I looked everywhere I know: Toys R Us, KB toys, and random toy stores in general, but with no success. So, please, do someone know where I could buy a dice set? :(

(I´m trying hard not to feeling lame lol)

Thanks for your time, by the way! :)

The 3 best placed to buy d+d stuff is the official wizards of the coast website, a borders (bookstore chain), or a barnes and nobles (rather large bookstore chain) (both of which carry some d+d equipment and books online).
Good luck to you.

A hobby shop is probably your best bet for finding dice, rather than a toy store. While it's a bit outdated, the Gamer's Guide to Gaming Stores (http://www.hothalflings.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=15) over on the Hot Halflings forum might help you find a store near your location. There's one store listed in Chula Vista, so that'd be a place to start.

For on-line places, Paizo sells dice (http://paizo.com/store/gameAids/dice) from several companies in their on-line store.

Welcome to the hobby, and the community here. :)

Thank you. I´ll look in those places. Although I didn´t knew that Borders carried some D&D equipment. That´s were I got the core rule books, but I never thought about asking if they got dice sets too.

Well, thank you for your time. I´ll let you know if now I´m succesful lol.

Another nice site is Advancing Hordes (www.advancinghordes.com). It has standard dice, d6s with pictures in place of one or all of the numbers(I need to get a set of frog d6s for slaadi), and even something called "true dice." These are dice which are crafted to with the most precise edges and faces possible, the numbers are then hand inked, and that's about all they do so that the dice are completely random, where as most dice have slight imperfections that make them a bit more unpredicatable.

also, don't ask for dice sets at borders, the people aren't likely to know what you're talking about, just go over to the gaming section and look for plastic wrapped boxes that say something along the lines of "Deluxe Dice set." These are sold by wizards, and so are rather expensive compared to other sets, but they are there.

Dude, don't know if it is still around, but when i lived on H street in Chula Vista in the late 80's there was a small chain of stores called GAME TOWNE in Old Town. Clark Knapp, was the owner.

I'll look in the yellow pages.

I used to ride the trolley to downtown, then catch a bus a few blocks away to old town. From the bus stop it was a few blocks to his store.

Thems was the good old days of gaming, when Traveller books came out one every month and a half.
