I downloaded the character sheets from the Complete series. However, when I try to view them with Adobe Reader 6.0 or 7.0 I get an error message saying, "The encoding (Cmap) specified by a font is missing." The PDF will go blank and a dialog box closes the file. Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone have a suggestion to correct this? I have checked for Adobe Reader updates, but I have the latest version.

Just out of curiosity, how does 187 square inches of paper become homosexual?

Aside, from the anti 11"x17" sentiments, any ideas? I tried to open the aforementioned alternative format, but received the same error. So for me, it's no dice with either layout. Help please :(

I have exactly the same problem, although it seems to be only with certain sheets. Some of them work OK for me.

Actually, I went back and found that I was too able to open some of them, unfortunately not the ones I really want namely those from The Complete Adventurer .

Since others are experiencing this error, hopefully WoC will correct the problems soon.

<EDIT: warok corrected his poor choice of words, so there's no purpose anymore to having a quote of the original post.>

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

And me thinking for all this time that 187 was a prime number after reading this book on codes used in the past.

Thank you for saving my life.

This error is typically caused by some required font not being embedded in the document. This is usually caused by two factors: the PDF producer not being knowledgeable enough to know what embedding is, or more typically, using a font that cannot be embedded due to licensing restrictions. In some of these cases, it looks like the font "Helvetica-Condensed-Light" is what causes the problem.

I just received fresh new versions of the files and they all open for me without any problems. They are uploading as I type this so by the time you see it new files should be on the servers.

Thanx
