As a side note I would like to note that the Character Optimization Boards might be just up your alley. 25 Levels isn't too far into the "Why even bother optimize this?" mentality that normaly occurs when epic is mentioned over there. If you do over there... submit any ideas you have to that particular thread that you start, like if you wanted to fill the tank role, caster-- (very powerful at 20th and more godlike at epic play)-- .rogue, the like. For a slight contribution to this particular thread I would like to point you towards the direction of the Knight of Chalice from Complete Warrior. And the Stalker of Kharash (Spelling...?) from Exalted Deeds. Both of those classes specialize against Evil/Outsiders (evil), they both are very martial oriented however, and without knowing your preference, a propper response can't be granted... |

| katarl01-27-06, 03:20 PM | well, generally you shouldn't tailor your character too much to fight a certain monster type- thats metagaming, and its no help if the dm changes his mind, or if you survive the first session, and he brings out something else. level 25. Well, generally spellcasters, particularly divine ones are strongest at those levels, and a 25th level cleric would be quite fitting, no matter the creatures. Prestige classes are always great, perhaps get a mystic theurge progression- 8 clr, 7 wiz, 10 mtheurge and you end up with level 9 spells all round! I once created a level 25 character who could cast divine and arcane spells, use psionics *and* use incarnum, all high level. It was rather difficult to make, but very broken. Epic characters take a while to do, but preparation is incredibly important. |
| larry_the_titan01-27-06, 04:27 PM | Thurd, You need to put this on the Character Optimization section to get a good answer but you also need to give a list of books. With out a list of books you will get to many answers that you cant even use or make sense of. A list of what you dont want to do also helps. Here is a list of what you most likely to find options wise on the boards, Charger tanks and the like, Meleers there are a lot more options now days but they seem alot options now days. Various blaster casters, Cant list all the options becuase every build is different and can blow everything and more off the face of the planet. Back up, Yes some players dont like this but they do seem to be fun roleplaying. Psionics, always fun if you know how to use them. I am a big fan of Two-Weapon Fighters. And a Optimized Tempest/Dervish can scare some one more then you think. And with the Perfect TWFing and two weapons with speed you will be attacking 10 a round constantly and 18 times when you get peeved at a baddy. |
