| Remnant03-17-04, 08:30 PM | Does anyone recall the name of a dungeon published in ye ol days of yore that was supposed to be literally unbeatable? I remember talking about it with a friend long ago, but can't remember the name for the life of me. |

| BruteForce03-18-04, 01:47 AM | There were a few older modules that were notorious player-killers, but unfortunately, they're all before my time. I've never heard of any actually being "unbeatable" (technically, anything could be unbeatable if, say, the PCs need to recover an artifact to save the world and the artifact isn't there or has been destroyed, but that's really cheap and just plain bad design). Tomb of Horrors springs to mind as a possibility, though. |
| Manic Man03-18-04, 01:52 AM | You're probably talking about Tomb of Horrors as BruteForce mentioned The other much less likely possibility is H4 - Throne of Bloodstone(?). The 100th level adeventure |
| Tenzhi03-18-04, 01:55 AM | Perhaps you speak of the famed Labyrinthe of Madness that was seemingly designed to kill off an entire party of high-level adventurers just so a DM could reboot his campaign. Though, I seem to recall an adventure or two being published with errors that prevented the party from achieving the end goals without the DM altering the adventure to fix the oversight. |
