Prewa_Draconis 01-29-04, 04:55 AM	Alright.. This question only partains to D&D because that's what I want to use these things for. I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find some slow burning, well illuminating candles..... I have one that I got for christmas from my girlfriend that has a beautiful carving of a dragon on it and Celtic bands across the tops and bottom, and would be PERFECT for a few sessions... but I don't want to burn it... I would have bought another one of them... but I got it when I was in Arizona... and none of the shops here in Alaska that I have searched seem to have them. I was thinking that any of the more occult store might carry the type that I want... but I have only seen one of those places here and it's kinda expensive. Other than that I thought about ordering some off of a Wicca supply website that I found. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Capn Charlie 01-29-04, 06:41 AM	Well you aren't likely to find many online for anywhere near a reasonable price. At one point I found I could buy a mould and make my own way cheaper than I could get them from a store. However if it is just candle ambiance you are looking for don't discount several strategically placed smaller tapers. If you go to a department store like Walmart, or can find a Dollar Tree or Dollar General Store you can pick up boxes of 4 tapers in any color for around a dollar. At most discount stores you can find boxes of 8 emergency candles that burn nicely for some time for around a dollar as well. They also have a nice organic look to them. If you can burn your candles in bottles and alternate the color and with each candle burned your set piece looks cooler and cooler. I have a Wine bottle with like 2 1/2 inches of accumulated wax on it in various colors that looks plain awesome! If you wanna go all the way and make your own you can use any kind of parrafin or wax and use crayons to melt in it to color it any tint you want. In fact some of my first candles were made with cardstock bent into a cylinder and a bottom taped on. You can design them almost any size all the way up to those foot diameter three wick ones.
