How would you go about creating cannons? A friend once told me how, but I can't remember. Something about it's just a larger musket, but I cannot remember how to increase the size.

In real life? I would say a good deal of cast iron and a properly shaped mold.

In D&D? Knowledge (engineering) 8+ ranks, craft (metallurgy) 6+ ranks, craft (alchemy) 6+ ranks. Or at least how I would do it.

Sorry, I wasn't quite specific. I'm looking for damage dice. For example, a Ballista is just a freakin huge crossbow. If a crossbow (for example only) does 1d4+2 damage, what does a ballista do? Similarly, If a musket does 1d6+2 damage, what would a cannon do? Or is it up to my discresion/imagination?
