Couldn't find any info about this in the books. Can clerics cast spells that are of the opposite alignment to theirs? What about the opposite of their deitys?
The way I figure this is that deitys don't give spells to their clerics that are opposite of the deitys alignment, but if a good character workships a neutral god, he could cast evil spells, though his alignment might take a hit if he does that often. What do you think?

See page 32 of the PHB 3.5 and look where it says "spells". Clerics could potentially cast all the spells on the cleric spell list but they are restricted by their own alignment. "Lawful" clerics can't cast "chaotic" spells and vice versa, and "good" clerics can't cast "evil" spells and vice versa.

On page 33 of the PHB 3.5 it goes on to to say the same thing about deity alignment. "For example, a good cleric (or a neutral cleric of a good deity) cannot cast evil spells." - PHB
