Ever had something happen in one of your campaigns that was right out of a movie?

Well today, I sure as hell did.

Here's the scene:
The level 15-20 party had just arrived at the BBEG, a level 23 Lich Cleric, with minions. The party is an assassination squad - sent to destroy the lich in his citadel, while the armies of the kingdom distract his endless numbers of skeletons (that they know of).

In terms of both fluff and mechanics, this campaign was a suicide mission. The party was, by no means, meant to survive.

One player, the Warlock, begins to speak with the lich, he's kind of cocky, so they go on for a few rounds, sparring verbally, while spell casters casually buffed in the background, and note: The scout had taken tactical feat from complete warrior: Raptor School, to observe the Lich for 3 rounds to gain +6 on his next attacks to hit, and damage.

Eventually the Lich demands Submission (Two Choices) or death. And the party launches into action!

The Ninja and the Dervish moved to engage minions. The Lich activates his epic crown of power, and the entire party must save against blindness. The spell casters started casting. And the scout made an insane charge, straight up the stairs to the Liches throne, He was intercepted by the Liches Iron Skeleton Bodyguards, and deliberatly ate the attacks of opportunityto continue his charge straight to the Lich himself.

Four great sword blows: two of which were crits, and an energy drain ray later, He arrived at the Liches Throne, and proceded to disarm the crown, rolling a natural 20 to counteract the Liches feeble Natural 1.

The crown rolls to the floor, where, at the next round, the Warlock flies to the Dias, and puts it straight on his head. Immediatly he is bombarded by power and knowledge of the 3 million common undead the Lich had on the battle field, and the 12 million no one knew about.

At this point, the battle begins to expand:

The Warlock calls the former trump card of the Lich for the surface battle: Gargantuan Skeletons.

The Lich calls his liaeutinants and minions: Nightwalkers, A Frost Giant Lord, and an Epic Death Knight.

The Druid summoned a sieries of greater earth elementals, while the sorcerer summoned Celestial Champions.

And the hoards of skeletons above ground turn on their former commanders at the Warlocks command.

But the tide had turned, with a move straight from Lord of The Rings (We swear it was not intended) the scout had turned the seemingly hopeless battle into a great victory with one thrust of his battle axe

Any one else have any other cenimatic moments to share?

I was playing a campaign a while back... the BBEG of the day was a 23rd-level magic-user, and the party confronted him at the entrance to his underground lair. After a bit of verbal sparring, the BBEG threating to cast his scroll of Power Word, Kill on someone. Well, finally, one of the PC's pisses him off enough for him to start casting it (he targets the mage, figuring he'd be weak). The 8th-level fighter in the party shouts "Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!" and charges madly through the BBEG's four bodyguards, scores a critical hit for 19 points of damage (straight to wounds, as per the Vitality/Wounds variant we were using). The BBEG had only 9 wounds, so that hit killed him outright. Which was good, because at the point in time I'd forgotten the rules for disrupting a spellcaster with a scroll.
