shiyongseng 10-22-05, 10:33 PM	Just curious- what would the Cenobites from Hellraiser be leveled as. Pinhead would be the highest of course, but what would his levels consist of. I was thinking a little of a Prestige class that could be related to him from Sword and Fist: Master of Chains with Chain Mastery, but he could control quite a few chains. What kind of powers from D&D would they have?

The rules are pretty cool (or maybe I'm biased because I think cenobites are cool) but I haven't had a chance to run anything like that yet... Edymnion 10-23-05, 12:55 AM	Actually, I wouldn't even put the cenobites as demons. Demons are just too far into the pure evil aspect. I'd actually put the cenobites more into a chaos plane, with evil leanings. They don't act out of a desire to promote evil intentions. They aren't trying to corrupt people. All they want is to cause pain and chaos wherever they go. So yeah, some kind of creatures from the Realm of Madness, perhaps. And really, they wouldn't even have to be THAT high of a level. Remember, everybody they go after in the movies is essentially a lvl 1 commoner. Some of them are a lvl 1 or 2 expert. One hit from a dagger is enough to kill them, which is a commoner's hitpoints, 1d4. They're powerful, yes. But you have to go for power in comparison to the people we have seen. I'd think a good medium level character could make for quite a hassle to a cenobite. Maybe lvl 15 for Pinhead, lvl 12-13 for the rest. They're powerful, but you unload a clip or two from an assault rifle into one of them, and they will go away. Sure, they'll come back again soon enough, but I don't recall any of the cenobites as being able to withstand massive physical damage without taking a serious hurting from it.

In part 4 in the future he was unloaded on by a soldier and he just kept coming. I just got 1-5 on DVD here in China cheap and it made me wonder... Last I checked there are 7 movies. Those stats in that book are a little old :D, he's gotta be better than that.

Count Arioch the 28th 10-23-05, 06:04 PM	There's a book I looked at one time that had a new type of fiends that resembled the Cenobites. I forget what exactly what the book was, it was one of those books with lots of old 2E and 1E monsters that never got reprinted, in the new edition. (I beleive it might have been second in the series) Creature Catalog 2 maybe?
