| Disciple_of_Salsa02-12-08, 02:34 AM | I've been looking at the leadership feat description, and a couple things look wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong about this- 1. You can have a cohort a higher level that you. In fact, it's hard not to at level 6 when you can get this feat. 2. Your cohort (who can be a higher level than you) can get the leadership feat, allowing him a cohort (plausible a higher level than your cohort) 3. You can have an infinite chain of cohorts that way. On a new subject, the vampire thing-- 1. Vampires can have a limited number of other vampires following them around. 2. Those vampires that follow them can also have several vampires following them around. 3.You could plausibly have a massive army of vampires under your command if you just spend enough time killing mid level creatures. Is that right? It looks like it, but I'm just trying to see if there are rules that would stop you from doing this. |

Regardless of a character’s Leadership score, he can only recruit a cohort who is two or more levels lower than himself. I see no listed restrictions on cohorts having Leadership feat, but it's of course up to the DM. Looks like the chart also says the highest level cohort you can have is 17th level. Assuming all cohorts have Leadership and a cohort of their own two levels below them, then you could have a maximum chain of cohorts of 7 (not including the PC). I don't know enough about vampires to comment on the second part. |
| DragonicHeritage02-12-08, 03:11 AM | 1) Straight from the srd: "The character can attract a cohort of up to this level. Regardless of a character’s Leadership score, he can only recruit a cohort who is two or more levels lower than himself. The cohort should be equipped with gear appropriate for its level. A character can try to attract a cohort of a particular race, class, and alignment. The cohort’s alignment may not be opposed to the leader’s alignment on either the law-vs-chaos or good-vs-evil axis, and the leader takes a Leadership penalty if he recruits a cohort of an alignment different from his own. " 2) No, Leadership is an optional rule (essentially a house rule) and is up to the dm's jurisdiction. Thus, it is a pc-only feat. Look in the monster manual or the srd .http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/monsters.htmNo monsters require the leadership feat to have followers. 3)As I said, no. Next subject:Vamps 1)Well yes and spawn too. 2)Spawn too as I said 3)Create Spawn (Su) A humanoid or monstrous humanoid slain by a vampire’s energy drain rises as a vampire spawn 1d4 days after burial. If the vampire instead drains the victim’s Constitution to 0 or lower, the victim returns as a spawn if it had 4 or less HD and as a vampire if it had 5 or more HD. In either case, the new vampire or spawn is under the command of the vampire that created it and remains enslaved until its master’s destruction. At any given time a vampire may have enslaved spawn totaling no more than twice its own Hit Dice; any spawn it creates that would exceed this limit are created as free-willed vampires or vampire spawn. A vampire that is enslaved may create and enslave spawn of its own, so a master vampire can control a number of lesser vampires in this fashion. A vampire may voluntarily free an enslaved spawn in order to enslave a new spawn, but once freed, a vampire or vampire spawn cannot be enslaved again. How many mid level and obove humanoids are there? So it is plausible, plus you may take the undead leadership feat too and get even more(or regular leadership) but is difficult, disruptive, and probably will not be allowed by dms under normal circumstances. Happy gaming :D |

Regardless of a character’s Leadership score, he can only recruit a cohort who is two or more levels lower than himself. |
