is anyone able to confirm the challenge rating of this trap ?

yes .. I know its very silly trap .. but that is beside the point :)



Heightened Unluck and Color Spray Trap: CR 5; magic device; proximity trigger (alarm); multiple traps (two heightened unluck spells that effect the two closest targets followed by one heightened color spray that effects the 15’ cone immediately in front of the trap); spell effect (heightened unluck, 7th level wizard, DC 16 Will save negates); spell effect (heightened color spray, 3rd-level wizard, 2 HD or less: The creature is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. They try the handle, are knocked unconcious for a few seconds, then they try the handle again and open the door. It really depends on what else is going on around them. If this is in an empty hallway, it won't be a problem. If they are being chased down the hall by kobolds, an ooze, a giant rock, or the hall filling with water, it is going to be much more deadly.
