I am playing my first character, a Chaotic Good rogue, and I was wondering what his moral limits would be. Off topic, but I'm the only good character in my group. We're playing 'The Pirate Campaign'. I.E. The Savage Tide.

Chaotic Good is one of my favorite Alignments. It's versitile and gives you the ability to be a "Good Guy" while still offering the ability ignore certain rules.
CG's limits are simple: you cannot simply murder someone or take actions that would endanger (to your knowledge), someone who is not an enemy. Rules are there for a reason, though some of them are certainly meant to be broken and you should take the opportunity to do so while keeping with a bit of benevolence.
Think of Robbin Hood: a perfect of example of a Chaotic Good Character.

I do hope this helps.

Take care, freind.:)

That's what I thought. And thanks, even though this my first time playing, and my fourth session coming up, I really like Chaotic Good characters, too. I could never play a lawful character.

CG would probably fit most "good guy" pirates you see in various films.

More Will Turner than Jack Sparrow though. Jack strikes me as more neutrally inclined.

Well, as a side note, your alignment doesn't dictate your actions, your actions dictate your alignment. You're not prevented from doing anything because of your alignment, though repeatedly doing them may shift your alignment, which doesn't carry any particularly onerous penalties for 95 percent of characters.

Just RP your character and let alignment take care of itself. :)

Well spoke, friend.

Toward the end of #2, Jack strikes me as chaotic neutral leaning toward chaotic good. Still mainly chaotic neutral, though.

Just RP your character and let alignment take care of itself. :)I agree with this completely.

Now, if you were a DM trying to decide if the PC in your group was behaving in a chaotic good manner...

Chaotic Good will do what he believes to be "the right thing", period. Doesn't matter what the rules are. Doesn't matter what the law says. Doesn't matter what the church says. Doesn't matter how mommy or daddy did it back in the day. The right thing to do is the right thing to do.

However, there may be some degree of debate on whether the right thing to do is right.
